A couple of days ago, I took Sara to visit my high school. It was the first time I’d gone back for a long look around in over ten years. Not because I have terrible, crippling memories of the place. On the contrary. I was kind of like a taller, more athletic Max Fischer. But it was the place I dreamed away from... And I never seemed to want to go there again until I’d managed to realize those dreams I’d planted there.

The Grateful Dead are back on tour this summer causing some of us to think back to our days of youth. I had the pleasure of attending a few Grateful Dead concerts while Jerry Garcia was still alive and “the lot” was as important to the experience of a show as the show itself. Wine wasn't a part of the preparations for a Dead show, but it should have been. The Dead's romantic lyrics call out for a slug of wine...
